Martins is from Riga, Latvia. Holds a doctoral degree in computer science from University of Latvia. Has been involved in software testing for more than 20 years. First half of that was spent in hands-on testing and team management. Later – consulting, training and evaluating testing-related teams and projects (specifically, as part of IT audits). Since 2000, one of organizers of annual TAPOST conferences. One of founding members of Latvian Software Testing Qualification Board.
